Auburn Montgomery’s Fine Arts department combines the discipline of visual arts and music, offering a major in visual art and minor in either music or art. The curricula in visual arts and music, through teaching the traditional principles, methods and techniques, will provide a sound foundation upon which specialized pursuits may be built. 

The department offers three principal courses of study leading to the B.A. in Fine Arts:

    • There are also many minors offered through the Department of Fine Arts including art history, studio art, graphic design, and music. The department also handles the Landscape Architecture and Building Science program that has been arranged with Auburn University (main campus).

Internship Opportunities

The Department of Fine Arts seeks to provide opportunities for advanced students in the visual arts to build professional portfolios, and to gain experience in dealing with clients. Students who have completed their upper level foundation courses may apply to the department head for assistance in locating a suitable internship sponsor. 


Student Art Association
